City Deck

How is everyone? I haven't posted anything for too long, life this, life that. But have has anyone checked out the board walk in downtown with their bike(s) (a.k.a. CityDeck)? That place is a park and the designers intended it to be one. Meaning, use it to normal wear from boards to bikes to dogs to people.

And if the cops come to kick you out with their lack of knowledge, tell em they should do some research and if it's past curfew for you, well, you better listen and get home.

The other day I saw a group of boarders getting sent home, all of them lit up a smoke as they were walking away, so I'm wondering what's up with that. Anyone know? Maybe they were being kicked out for skating.

Alright, so, this summer, flood the place with wheels, but with respect to the people around you. Don't be stupid and freak people out like your cool or something and then put a peg in someones leg.

BTW, a friend of mine who is a good skater lost two boards in the river already, sucks. hang on to your bike even if you go over, just don't drown.

Whats New

Hello everyone. Besides trying to sell my bikes, I still have 6, I've been looking at building some Jumps out for wood. The best place to get some is from construction sites, the dumpsters. You could probably built a house out of the stuff they throw away. Maybe not today though, tough economy. not as much waste going around.

Anyway, it's hard to find a good site with jump building plans, blue prints, especially for strictly BMX. Skaters seem to have it all. At any rate, I was looking to do something simple to get three-sixties down. Fun box, Box Jump, seems to be the name's of what I wanted to make.

Ramp, table, landing ramp. So the image on top show it. Below are some sites with some drawings and images, there isn't much out there that's worth posting... yet. I'll have to come up with my own drawings or something. I'll try SolidWorks, maybe Sketchup with a file so anyone can look at it.

This plans are littered all over the web as blue prints for jumps:

Location 13: Larsen Green

Well, some of you may have been to this place behind Titletown. It once had a 6 or 7 ft quarter pipe built out of pallets that I built and some other dirt jumps. Green Bay, being in a hurry to do something with the place decided it was time to take out a playground and create the salt flats. It's gonna be 5 to 15 or 20 years before someone builds a live work-I-got-$$$-to-put-into-more-empty-lots.

If your ever running a city, make sure your almost out of land to develop before you go freeing up more, do a market study, apply innovation using NEW ideas, and be young people friendly so they don't go causing havoc.

Anyway, Larsen Green, not so green yet, still has a loading dock to jump from and a couple other spots, one by the insurance place and another by what was a weight station.

Birds eye view isn't accurate any more, most of the warehouses and buildings are gone.

Location 12, Velp (a.k.a. Baltic Ave)

This is an odd spot to post, but I bet some of you know about it. Just a jump next to a tree, Old jump, Not too sure about the condition, but really, there could be a series of jumps made there.

You should be careful though, never know who or whats there. May be broken glass. Welcome to a city that needs to work on realistic youth entertainment.

Location 11, Public Works

Stairs, benches, concrete forms. Behind Holiday Inn, Check it out. Says no skating, so keep it clean. I wonder if that BMX park is any closer to this town. May as well go to Bairds Creek with a large crowd with shovels and a bobcat or two and make an all dirt track/park. Whose up for it? Summers almost up, but the opportunity can be planned and made ready for next year. Anyone have a map of whats there to work off of?
