Here is what you really need for basic direction for a jump. With some OSB board on top, You got what you need. Dimensions are in Inches. Let me know if there is a jump you'd want me to draw up or it you need more detail.

Whats New

Hello everyone. Besides trying to sell my bikes, I still have 6, I've been looking at building some Jumps out for wood. The best place to get some is from construction sites, the dumpsters. You could probably built a house out of the stuff they throw away. Maybe not today though, tough economy. not as much waste going around.

Anyway, it's hard to find a good site with jump building plans, blue prints, especially for strictly BMX. Skaters seem to have it all. At any rate, I was looking to do something simple to get three-sixties down. Fun box, Box Jump, seems to be the name's of what I wanted to make.

Ramp, table, landing ramp. So the image on top show it. Below are some sites with some drawings and images, there isn't much out there that's worth posting... yet. I'll have to come up with my own drawings or something. I'll try SolidWorks, maybe Sketchup with a file so anyone can look at it.

http://rampplans.org/ramps/

This plans are littered all over the web as blue prints for jumps:

Location 13: Larsen Green

Well, some of you may have been to this place behind Titletown. It once had a 6 or 7 ft quarter pipe built out of pallets that I built and some other dirt jumps. Green Bay, being in a hurry to do something with the place decided it was time to take out a playground and create the salt flats. It's gonna be 5 to 15 or 20 years before someone builds a live work-I-got-$$$-to-put-into-more-empty-lots.

If your ever running a city, make sure your almost out of land to develop before you go freeing up more, do a market study, apply innovation using NEW ideas, and be young people friendly so they don't go causing havoc.

Anyway, Larsen Green, not so green yet, still has a loading dock to jump from and a couple other spots, one by the insurance place and another by what was a weight station.

Birds eye view isn't accurate any more, most of the warehouses and buildings are gone.

Location 12, Velp (a.k.a. Baltic Ave)

This is an odd spot to post, but I bet some of you know about it. Just a jump next to a tree, Old jump, Not too sure about the condition, but really, there could be a series of jumps made there.

You should be careful though, never know who or whats there. May be broken glass. Welcome to a city that needs to work on realistic youth entertainment.

Location 11, Public Works

Stairs, benches, concrete forms. Behind Holiday Inn, Check it out. Says no skating, so keep it clean. I wonder if that BMX park is any closer to this town. May as well go to Bairds Creek with a large crowd with shovels and a bobcat or two and make an all dirt track/park. Whose up for it? Summers almost up, but the opportunity can be planned and made ready for next year. Anyone have a map of whats there to work off of?

Location 10 Stairs

Stairs and rails, not only for skateboards, but they are also for BMX as we all know. Here are just a few spots where you can grind, jump or just get air off some stairs. Don't forget to wear your safety gear. (Sullivan Elementary, Packer Stadium, Brown County Court House,)Enjoy!

Location 9

Also in Ashwaubenon, behind Dr. Pierre Dentist office off of Oneida St (or the DMV) at the end of a cul-de-sac, is a small dirt BMX area that may now have a couple wood jumps. Best to go there with a friend or two, most Mom's wouldn't want their Kid riding in the woods by themselves. Best way in is along the trail at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Location 8 Leicht Memorial Park

Leicht Memorial Park, to be updated on Google Maps, has some stairs and benches. Great spot to hang out and a good view of the city. Go to http://www.ci.green-bay.wi.us/parks/parks/LeichtPark.html if you want information on renting the park for a day to host a BMX event. :)

Location 7 Ashwaubenon Sports Center

Full-screen

Ashwaubenon Sports Center, as small as it is, is an effort and a benefit for BMX in Green Bay. Yet, if you’re in the Downtown area, it's quite the haul to get there on pedal. Pack the bikes in the car, Welcome to America, too much semi urban and plenty of sprawl.

Location 6 Mason Bridge

Under the 54 Bridge, without a BMX park, there are a few area's that can be interesting to ride through and jump around. Keep you eyes open for jump opportunities in Green Bay and send them in. This is where a proposed BMX park could be placed. Watch for cars.

Location 5

A much as a should not, I should. Green Bay has provided for skaters. BMXer's must provide for themselves. When no one is around to drive you out, the skate park is a great place for practice and fun. MOST skaters find it interesting when some one on a bike comes in and makes some moves (I think the skaters get bored staring at each other all the time).

We relatively get along in there, minus when it's crowded. Remember, BMX riders put money into this park too.

Looking For a BMX Bike Street

Hello Everyone. I've been doing a lot of my own bike construction of the past few years and now I need to get a complete bike to keep up with the time. If any of you have a bike that you would like to sell, I'd like to take a look at it.

I'm mainly looking for street and a relatively light bike. (I still have to weigh my lightest bike to see what relatively means)

Mid Bearings, Euro or Spanish. (a must)

25, 9 gearing or something of that order.

No pegs, don't care for brakes and I can paint.

Pivotal Seat, really low.

Doubled walled rims (a must)

Milwaukee seems to have what I'm looking for but for a used bike, $300 for some bikes is steep.

Shoot me an email, send me the pictures. Thank you.

Location 2

Here is the Southwest High School Site. Some of you may know about the area, used for dirt bikes and quads, paintball and dumping. There are a few jumps there and with some shovels, a nice line of jumps could be made. If your a local in the the Neighborhood, ask around for a bobcat.

Remember, or if you didn't know, this is Oneida Land. Respect it, keep it clean. Go with friend's. Below is a google link to view the site.

Location 1

This is the Citydeck designed by stossLU of Boston, MA downtown Green Bay. Sometime within a year it will be completed. Quite the accomplishment for Green Bay, World Class Design, and it is also quite the public space for residents. (Last photo is what used to be "the boardwalk")

There are some wonderfully designed benches that flow into the walkway. The bike trail runs through the heart of the park and the wood used is Ipe, extremely durable and a beautiful gray surface as it ages.

BMXer's, what am I getting at with this post? StreetBMX sees that need in Green Bay for areas destined for youth. Citydeck will become a wonderful downtown attraction and a hang out spot. Coffee, sunflower seeds and young people standing and sitting in circles is all that is needed.

BMX could and should have a field day, but with full respect to other users and the physical appearance of the park. Get stossLU to do the BMX park. Remember, your tax dollars at work here. Enjoy it!

Here it is on the Map.

Green Bay BMX Locations/Sites

I hate to do this, but I'll Post the links for now of some areas in Green Bay that are known or little known for BMX riding. What I really like about BMX is the creativity one can put into the physical setting their in, Designing tricks. Jumps are made out of anything, boards, pallets, curbs, walls, or whatever is there.

Some of the links below are very general, but I've placed the arrow in Google Maps on the exact locations. I will be updating this blog and posting new locations with photos, aerial and birds-eye-view. Just copy and paste the links in your address bar. Enjoy!

First Post: StreetBMX

Greetings Fellow BMX riders of Green Bay, WI.

I right to you today to begin a link with those of you who enjoy BMX bikes and riding, whether, street, flatland or dirt. Green Bay has potential to get into the global sport and contribute talent, energy and an economic enhancing tool that the city as a whole will benefit from.

My hope and desire is that StreetBMX will become a place information on riding in the city, updates (what ever they are) and news.

First off, BMX park. I have full support for the overpass54 and dream of at least one individual burdening himself with such a task. (Check to out: http://overpass54.webs.com)

Second, I'm going to compile a map, or several, of all the locations one may find or come across that are great for tricks, jumping, or whatever you can do on that bike of yours.

Third, send in your thoughts, ideas, concerns, to this email address: streetbmx.gb@gmail.com

Forth, I'll tell you later.
